Nachdem Prinz Harry (36) und Herzogin Meghan (38) überraschend ihren Rückzug als hochrangige Mitglieder der königlichen Familie bekanntgegeben hatten, gehen nun beide wieder ihrer Arbeit nach. Herzogin Meghan stattete dem „Downtown Eastside Women’s Center“ in Vancouver einen Überraschungsbesuch ab, wie unter anderem die „Daily Mail“ berichtete. Prinz Harry hat in einem Instagram-Post eine neue Station seiner Invictus Games angekündigt.

Harry hatte die „Invictus Games“ im Jahr 2014 nach dem amerikanischen Vorbild der „US Warrior Games“ ins Leben gerufen. Sie sind eine Art Olympische Spiele für körperlich und geistig versehrte Soldaten. Veteranen aus der ganzen Welt treten in verschiedenen Disziplinen gegeneinander an. Die Sportveranstaltung ist eines der großen Herzensprojekte des Prinzen, der selbst zehn Jahre in der Armee gedient hat. 2020 findet die einwöchige Veranstaltung in Den Haag statt, für 2022 ist nun auch ein Veranstaltungsort gefunden.

Er hofft auf herzlichen Empfang in Deutschland

„Wir kommen, Düsseldorf“, teilt Harry in dem Post mit. Rund 500 Teilnehmer werden laut dem Herzog von Sussex an den Invictus Games in Deutschland erwartet. „Ich habe keine Zweifel daran, dass das deutsche Publikum die Mitwirkenden mit einer tollen Atmosphäre begrüßen wird.“

Am Montag musste Harry seine Großmutter, Queen Elizabeth II. (93), seinen Vater, Prinz Charles (71), und seinen Bruder, Prinz William (37), in Sandringham über seine Pläne zum Rückzug aus der royalen Familie aufklären. Seine Ehefrau weilt derweil in Kanada. Wann Harry wieder zu ihr und dem gemeinsamen Sohn Archie (8 Monate) stößt, ist noch nicht bekannt.
